The Tonkinese has a wide range of colours in each of the three Tonkinese coat-patterns - Burmese Colour Restriction (BCR), Tonkinese Colour Restriction (TCR) and Colourpointed Pattern (CPP). Here we show you examples of each of the basic self-colours (i.e. a single coloured cat, not a tortie, tabby or tortie-tabby) in each coat-pattern. Getting hold of suitable photos is not always possible, and there can also be a difference in colour maturity in each colour/pattern so you may see several photos per coat-pattern.
The award winning book 'Tonkinese In Colour' provides over 260 photos of different Tonkinese showing the full range of colours and patterns, including photos of nose and paw leathers and eye colours. It also includes some explanation for these colours and patterns. Click here for more information.

FAWN
To tell the difference between the Fawn coat-patterns you need a DNA test. Fawns are very similar in tone and because they are so pale lighting conditions can have quite an effect on the coat.
