Required DNA Tests for Tonkinese Active Registration
When you register a kitten/cat you have the choice of registering it as Active (i.e. it may be bred from) or Non-active (it may not be bred from). To register it as Active it must be micro-chipped and have been tested for health conditions specified in the Tonkinese Registration Policy. If you are not sure whether you want a kitten/cat to be bred from you should register it as Non-active and re-register it as Active later on - only the breeder can request the change from Non-active to Active.
You must read the current Registration Policy before registering any of your Tonkinese as Active.
The Tonkinese Registration Policy requires certain mandatory DNA tests.

Did your Queen test Positive for one of the mandatory tests?
This does NOT mean that you cannot continue to breed from her, it just means that you must not mate her with a cat that is also positive for the same. Testing gives you the reassurance that your kittens will be safe, and with responsible breeding we can avoid these problems in our breed. You should ask the owner of your chosen stud to show you the test result result sheet for their cat as confirmation that it meets the current requirements.
